According to writer Simon Phillips, Chelsea had a conversation with Memphis Depay's agent over the summer of 2018, but the player's name has not been brought up in subsequent conversations. Memphis Depay has not been mentioned in recent discussions.

The forward who is now playing for Barcelona has been linked with a move to the Blues in the forthcoming transfer window; however, Phillips asserts that he has not heard anything regarding a possible move to Stamford Bridge.

A journalist recently disclosed to GMS that the possibility of the 28-year-old becoming a target cannot be ruled out due to the fact that Chelsea showed interest in him at the tail end of the previous transfer window. Although Phillips claims that the name Depay has not been brought up in recent conversations with him, Depay’s name has been brought up in recent conversations with another journalist.

This coming month, there is a significant likelihood that the club in west London will be on the lookout for a new forward to join the team as a striker. According to The Athletic’s reporting, the club places a strong priority on the recruitment of a forward as one of its primary objectives.
