Chelsea are the latest club to take an interest in signing Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

Illan Meslier, the goalkeeper at Leeds United, has attracted interest from a number of clubs lately, including Chelsea.

Chelsea is now a contender to sign the French goalkeeper, according to Foot Mercato in France. The 22-year-old has already been linked with Bayern Munich and Newcastle.

Meslier is being considered by German powerhouse Bayern Munich as a replacement for Manuel Neuer, who will miss the remainder of the season after breαking his leg while skiing after the World Cup. Leeds would find it challenging to hold onto one of their treasured possessions if a deal were made for the French goalkeeper, who is under contract at Elland Road until 2026. Following Leeds’ promotion to the Premier League in 2019, Meslier’s loan from Lorient was converted to a permanent deal.
