Chelsea must meet Mason Mount's contract demands to sign Declan Rice, according to Todd Boehly. Chelsea needs this to sign Rice. The 23-year-old midfielder, whose contract at Stamford Bridge expires in 18 months, has one of the club's lowest incomes.

Todd Boehly has been informed that Chelsea must give in to Mason Mount’s contract demands in order to sign Declan Rice. This is a requirement for Chelsea to be able to sign Rice. The midfielder, who is 23 years old and whose contract at Stamford Bridge will run out in 18 months, is reported to have one of the lowest salaries of any of the club’s players.According to football.london’s understanding, Mount has been made a fresh offer to extend his stay in west London on revised terms. However, the length of the proposed contract is proving to be a problem, as the Cobham graduate is hesitant to commit to a six- or seven-year term at this juncture in his career. In September, Reece James signed a new deal with Chelsea that will keep him playing for the club through the year 2028. But despite laying the way for Mount to follow suit, the Metro has stated that the midfielder is holding out for £300,000 a week, which is equivalent to £15.6 million a year, and talks between the two parties have now been suspended until the new year.Mount is currently in negotiations with the club over a new contract at a time when his close buddy Declan Rice has been extensively linked with a move to Chelsea. The West Ham captain was at the top of the Blues’ transfer wishlist from the previous year; however, a move did not go through because the Hammers’ valuation of £100 million was seen to be too “steep.”
