Ten Hug Reveals master plan.
Rio Ferdinand has revealed his six-point plan for Erik ten Hag to revive Manchester United.
Ten Hag was confirmed as the next permanent Manchester United manager earlier this week, the Ajax head coach taking over from interim boss Ralf Rangnick at the end of the current season.
The Dutchman is expected to help oversee a drastic overhaul of the club’s operations on and off the pitch, and “f**king unbelievable” director of football candidate Ferdinand has kindly offered some advice with a six-point plan.
“These are the six points that, actually, the manager can have influence on,” he told BT Sport ahead of the club’s game against Arsenal.
“You can talk about stadiums and training ground redevelopment – that’s not where Ten Hag’s gonna be coming in to play.
“You talk about the six points and I think setting the culture, I’ve mentioned that many times over the last couple of months about the culture. With that, I mean having areas of where there’s discipline, where players are made accountable on and off the pitch. You need consequences when things aren’t going right, or decisions are made off the pitch as well.
Erik ten Hag by the numbers: games, trophies, signings
“I don’t feel that there’s a fear factor for many players really, where [they think] ‘If I do something wrong or I step out of line or I don’t adhere to tactical strategies, the right way,’ there isn’t a fear factor where [they think] ‘do you know, actually, someone’s going to come down hard on me, or I’m gonna disappoint a teammate or disappoint the manager’.
