‘End love’ with Kante, Chelsea considered recruiting ‘genius’ who gave Rice ‘humiliation’

The month of January will find Chelsea searching for a new midfielder to add to their roster.

Didier Drogba, a club veteran, has expressed his admiration for France international and dynamic midfielder Antoine Griezmann. As a result of Drogba’s words, Chelsea could be enticed to rekindle their interest in Griezmann. The Blues have an exceptional demand for new midfielders to join them in the position during the month of January.

There has been speculation that either N’Golo Kante or Jorginho could leave the club at the conclusion of the current campaign because both of their current deals will expire at the end of the current campaign. The two players have been mainstays at Stamford Bridge in the past, but it appears as though their tenure with the club may soon come to an end.

Graham Potter’s arrival at Chelsea has caused a significant shift in the team’s tactical approach, and as a result, players are being pushed to develop their versatility in order to participate in his free-flowing system. In this system, the team rotates its formations depending on the phase of the game that is currently being played.

Because of his strong performance for France at the World Cup, comparisons between Griezmann and Kante have increased significantly. As a result of these comparisons, the Blues could be enticed to renew their interest in Griezmann for 2021 in order to find Kante’s replacement. Didier Deschamps has been using the great midfielder from Atletico Madrid in a three-man midfield in Qatar, and the player has done exceptionally well in his new position.

Over the course of the last few years, Griezmann has demonstrated that there is more to his playstyle than simply being a presence in the final third of the field. This is despite the fact that he has spent the majority of his career playing the positions of winger and striker. The 31-year-old has demonstrated that he is capable of playing in the center midfield position despite having spent time with Barcelona on loan playing in the number 10 position.

After Les Bleus’ triumph against Morocco earlier this week, Drogba was effusive in his praise for the playmaker, stating, “He looks more like Kante than Griezmann!” The former Real Sociedad player has expressed how much he enjoys the challenge of having to be vigilant to his defending and has worked very hard to avoid his opponents from overwhelming his defense.

Paul Pogba, who also plays for France’s national team, made a similar observation when he posted a selfie on Instagram with the phrase “Griezmannkante” next to it. The selfie showed Pogba expressing his admiration for Griezmann. In spite of the fact that the two comments seemed to be made in jest, it is possible that they will stimulate Potter’s imagination.

In light of the fact that Kante is about to depart the club, the manager who used to be in charge at Brighton is looking for a player who is high-energy and versatile in different situations. Despite the fact that Chelsea has a new recruiting team, the idea of bringing the Atletico star to Stamford Bridge may still be an active consideration. Griezmann has been heavily associated with Chelsea in the past, and despite this, the Blues may still be interested in signing him.

Griezmann’s current deal is set to expire in 2026, and given his impressive play for France, he is sure to want a hefty price. Despite this, he may still provide a more cost-effective option than young players like Jude Bellingham and Moises Caicedo.
