According to journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea 'absolutely' has Celtic defender Josip Juranovic on their 'radar' ahead of the impending winter transfer window.

It is reported that Blues manager Graham Potter is looking to add some cover and competition in that area for current right wing-back Reece James, therefore the Blues may be looking to acquire a new right wing-back.

As a result of his outstanding performances at the World Cup, Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Juranovic is “on the radar” of “several clubs,” and that Celtic are “open to conversations” over the possibility of signing him.

According to a story that was published by the Daily Record not long ago, Serie A club Torino is reported to have made the first approach to acquire the Croatian national team player and that the Hoops are planning to ask for £17 million for his services.

Although a formal bid was never made, the Daily Mail reported in August that Manchester United, Chelsea, and Atletico Madrid were all interested in signing Juranovic away from Parkhead, although none of the three clubs were successful in doing so.

Since then, the 27-year-old athlete has only managed to further his profile by putting up a series of impressive performances at the showcase event that was held in Qatar.

It has been reported that West Ham United are also interested in acquiring Juranovic’s services, and it appears that he will be one of the players in most demand during the following month.

Phillips has informed GMS that Chelsea are “still considering” making a move for the attack-minded full-back after having entered into negotiations with Celtic in the summer. This comes after Chelsea had previously expressed interest in acquiring the player.

He stated that “the right-back that I know Chelsea is still considering looking at is Juranovic from Croatia, the Celtic full-back.” Juranovic is currently playing for Celtic. There is little doubt that Chelsea is keeping a close eye on him; in fact, they have been doing so since the summer.

“At the time, Celtic were interested in acquiring Ross Barkley from Chelsea, and the Blues were mulling over the possibility of making a trade that would involve Juranovic moving in the opposite direction.”

After completing a transfer from Legia Warsaw to Celtic in August 2021 for a fee of £2.5 million, Juranovic made an immediate impact for the club, collecting five goals and two assists in 35 games over the previous season.

The technically gifted player was an integral member of the team that led Ange Postecoglou’s charges to victory in both the Scottish Premiership and the League Cup.

According to WhoScored, Juranovic has maintained that level of play into the current season. He is averaging 0.4 blocks per league game, which is the third highest total among his colleagues, and 1.6 critical passes, which is the joint-fourth highest total.

As a consequence of this, John Hartson has referred to Juranovic in the past as “excellent,” and he might prove to be an invaluable asset for Chelsea under Potter’s leadership.

Prior to Bournemouth’s return to the Premier League, Raheem Sterling sends a three-word message to Chelsea

Several of Chelsea’s World Cup stars returned to Cobham for training as they continued to get ready for the start of Premier League play over the weekend. In their first game back, Graham Potter’s team takes on Bournemouth in an effort to snap their recent hot streak.

The Blues were having a difficult time on the field before the domestic season was postponed to make room for the World Cup in Qatar. They had a string of poor performances and outcomes. Since October 16, Potter’s team hasn’t won in the Premier League, and they’ve dropped four of their last five games.

After taking some time to refuel and relax, everyone in west London is focused on next Tuesday’s home game against Bournemouth in order to maintain Champions League football as a realistic goal for the season’s finale.

In addition to clips of England’s Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling, and Conor Gallagher, Chelsea shared a video of Thiago Silva participating in training for the first time since his World Cup hopes were crushed at the hands of Croatia on Sunday.

Reece James and Wesley Fofana have also been seen in training film over the previous few days, giving Potter a much-needed lift before the start of football.

And after returning to Cobham for the first time since being eliminated by France a week ago, Sterling posted a three-word message to his personal Twitter account. “Back to Business,” Sterling captioned three images.

For Sterling, the second half of the season will be eagerly awaited. Since joining Stamford Bridge from Manchester City in the summer, the 28-year-old has struggled, scoring only three league goals.
